The chemical German company, BASF, published the last 17 January the corresponding preliminary figures for the economic exercise of the year 2022. These first data have confirmed that expect to officialize some sales that reach 87.327 million euros and that the figure that alludes to the income expected of operations before extraordinary, will reach 6.878 million euros. These numbers coincide with the estimates that were previously handled in the group.
In this report, the company has recognized that there is a devaluation in a plant in the segment of chemical products since the EBIT of the group BASF has risen to 6.548 million euros expected in 2022, which is inferior to the figure of the previous year and that does not reach the numbers that had stipulated the consensus of analysts for the past year.
Also, they have explained that the net income of the group BASF will be considerably lower than that of the ones of the past year (1.376 million euros in 2022 in front of the 5.523 million euros in 2021). As indicated by the company in its own press release, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has had big consequences and has cleared that "the devaluation in the stock participation in Wintershall Dea AG by the amount of roughly 7.300 million euros, of which 5.400 million in the fourth quarter of 2022. These deteriorations result in particular in the deconsolidation of the Russian activities of exploration and production of Wintershall Dea because of the big loss of real influence and the economic expropriation. Wintershall Dea Has the intention to go out entirely of Russia in an orderly way fulfilling all the applicable legal obligations. In consequence, have reevaluated the Russian participation of Wintershall Dea and have made amortizations in the European business of transport of gas, including an amortization complete of the participation in Nord Stream AG."
In spite of this, the sales increased by 11% with the reason of the highest prices and positive effects of the coin.
With regard to the average of the estimate handled the analysts for the EBIT before special games of the segments were surpassed in 2022 by Farming Solutions and Surface Technologies, but not in the segments of Nutrition and Care and Chemicals.
