The pharmaceutical company has hired Alex Sanfeliu as Head of the Pharmaceutical Technologies Business Unit.
Alex Sanfeliu joins Reig Jofre in a division that accounted for 46% of turnover at the end of 2022. This appointment, as the company has indicated, is part of the strategic plan for 2023-2027, years that are classified by the company as a 'phase of ambitious international expansion'.
The company, founded in Barcelona in 1929, incorporates Alex Sanfeliu, a graduate in Industrial Engineering from the UPC and with an MBA from IESE, who has more than 20 years of experience in senior roles in the pharmaceutical industry and consultancy.
The division for which Alex Sanfeliu will now be responsible focuses on products for hospital use and its main business is international. In 2022, the Pharmaceutical Technologies Business Unit grew by 20% compared to 2021, thanks in part to the opening of new European and Asian markets.
The pharmaceutical laboratory grew 19% in revenues and 25% in EBITDA in the second quarter of 2023, which meant more than 155 million euros in sales, with a notable improvement in the Specialty Pharmcare Division.
