The National Perfumery and Cosmetics Association (Stanpa) has appointed Rebeca Durán as the new International Director, a strategic area within the organization that reinforces its commitment to promoting the global presence of the Spanish beauty sector.

In an increasingly complex international context, marked by geopolitical tensions, regulatory changes, and logistical challenges, Stanpa's international activity plays a key role in maintaining export leadership, reducing trade barriers, and supporting companies in their global expansion.

Durán takes over from Susana Arranz, who has led the international department since 2013, beginning a new stage in which she will contribute her extensive experience and knowledge of the sector. Her appointment represents the natural evolution of her career as deputy director of international affairs and is part of the process of strengthening Stanpa's management structure, along with the recent appointments of Val Díez as CEO of Stanpa and its ecosystem, and of Susana Arranz herself as executive director. All of them are driving the 2024–2027 Strategic Plan, which focuses on institutional representation, competitiveness, sustainability, and innovation.

For the past several years, Rebeca Durán has led strategic projects in the Sectoral Export Plan alongside ICEX, actively contributing to the growth of the Spanish cosmetics industry and the strengthening of its international reputation. "This new role represents an opportunity for me to continue consolidating the international projection of the Beauty from Spain brand as a symbol of excellence and competitiveness in our industry. I face this stage with enthusiasm and a commitment to opening new avenues of growth for SMEs, reinforcing the global leadership of Spanish cosmetics," Durán said.

With this appointment, Stanpa reinforces its support for SMEs and large exporting companies that currently market products in more than 175 countries. In 2024, sector exports exceeded 9.5 billion euros, with a positive trade balance of 3.7 billion, placing Spain as the world's second-largest exporter of perfumes and among the top ten countries in the world in cosmetics. Spanish perfumery and cosmetics export more than emblematic sectors such as wine, footwear, or olive oil, consolidating themselves as one of the main drivers of competitiveness in the national economy.
