Unilever continues with changes at the top. The personal care company has made official the appointment of Michael Stewart as Chief Corporate Affairs and Communications Officer, to replace Rebecca Marmot, who has served in this role for six years leading the company's global strategy.
Marmot has belonged to Unilever since 2007, although it was in 2019 when he took on the leadership of sustainability within the group. "In July, I announced that my intention was to resign from the role of Unilever's sustainability and corporate affairs leader to take on a new challenge," he wrote on his personal LinkedIn.
Marmot added that "Unilever is a fantastic company with incredible colleagues. I am proud to have been a part of it for so long. I feel enormously grateful and full of energy and optimism." In the same post, Marmot took the opportunity to welcome Michael Stewart and tell him that she will be supporting him and his team.
Stewart has over three decades of experience in communications, public policy, and sustainability.
