Another step in digitalization. Walmart and OpenAI have closed a partnership that will allow customers to shop through artificial intelligence. Through the Instant Checkout tool, customers will be able to shop through ChatGPT at Walmart and Sam's Club.

As stated by the U.S. retailer, the experience thanks to the inclusion of AI will go from being reactive to proactive, since, as they indicate, "artificial intelligence will help customers anticipate their needs."

The supermarket giant noted that this collaboration builds on the many ways Walmart and Sam's Club already employ AI, such as improving product catalogs, optimizing customer service resolution times, and promoting AI literacy among employees.

Walmart CEO Doug McMillon has explained that this change will mark a turning point: "For many years, e-commerce shopping experiences have consisted of a search bar and a long list of responses to the items. This framework is about to change. A native, multimedia, personalized, and contextual AI experience is coming. We are moving towards that more pleasant and practical future with Sparky and through collaborations, including this important step with OpenAI."
