In the heart of Latin American cosmetic innovation, a startup is radically transforming the way personal care products are born: its name is BIOCOS LAB, and it promises to be the missing link between technology, science, and sustainability.

Founded by Samantha Fernández Martinez , a young pharmaceutical chemist, BIOCOS LAB is much more than a formulation software. It is an intelligent platform that uses artificial intelligence to design optimized cosmetic formulations, saving time, water, resources, and trial-and-error mistakes in laboratories. In short, BIOCOS LAB not only creates products, it creates efficiency.

“We want to democratize access to high-quality formulation and open the doors to more sustainable, scientific cosmetics connected with biodiversity,” explains Samantha, currently a student of the international master's degree EMOTION in skin care and research, with a strong interest in computational chemistry applied to the development of sustainable dermocosmetic products.

Much more than a software: this is what BIOCOS LAB can do

BIOCOS LAB has been designed to accompany and facilitate the entire formulation process from the first click. Through its platform, users can:

  • Define the type of product to formulate: from creams, serums, and toners to solid formats like balms and bars.
  • Select the desired cosmetic profile: vegan, free of parabens, silicones, sulfates, without synthetic fragrances or artificial colorants.
  • Establish specific needs of the product: texture, viscosity percentage, color, aroma, skin type or dermatological condition (acne, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, etc.).
  • Obtain recommendations for active ingredients and excipients based on compatibility, function, origin, and solubility, supported by a constantly updated scientific database.
  • Detect incompatible ingredients or undesired interactions (such as ionic charges that affect stability, or mixture of ingredients that reduce efficacy).
  • Predict the stability of the product with in silico modules (coming soon), which allows avoiding costly errors in the laboratory.
  • Discover innovative ingredients derived from agro-industrial waste, with a clear focus on circular economy and local biodiversity.
  • Directly contact laboratories, raw material suppliers, packaging, and experts to co-create the final product without leaving the platform.

All this with a step-by-step guided experience, designed for formulators, startups, distributors, researchers, or any professional who wants to transform a cosmetic idea into a viable, traceable, and ready-to-scale formula.

A network that unites science, ingredients and business vision

But BIOCOS LAB does not stop at the intelligent design of formulas. It is also a digital cluster, a community where dermocosmetics experts, raw material distributors, packaging designers, and manufacturing laboratories converge, all connected to bring unique and responsible products to life.

This ecosystem facilitates the connection between entrepreneurs who wish to launch a cosmetic brand and the technical team that can make it a reality, generating a completely optimized workflow from the idea to the final product.

Sustainability with scientific basis

One of the most solid pillars of BIOCOS LAB is its commitment to the circular economy. The software integrates into its database ingredients derived from agro-industrial waste, especially from Valle del Cauca in Colombia, such as sugarcane husks and other agricultural by-products.

Each formulation is evaluated to verify its viability, stability, and ingredient compatibility. In addition, the team continuously works on the development of new algorithms that will allow to simulate stability tests before taking the formulation to the laboratory, reducing time and waste.

From Colombia for the world

With growing presence in Latin America and a clear vision of internationalization towards Europe, South Korea and Brazil, BIOCOS LAB is projected as a key tool to digitally transform the global cosmetic industry.

The platform already collaborates with universities, researchers, and laboratories, and is preparing to launch its new membership system for maquiladoras, distributors, and raw material creators.

An invitation to co-create the future of cosmetics

BIOCOS LAB does not sell empty promises. It offers concrete solutions, useful technology, and an active community of experts ready to co-create the future of the cosmetic industry. Its proposal is clear: making cosmetic science accessible, personalized, and aligned with the planet.

If you are in the world of beauty, it's time to get to know this platform.
Because the future is not formulated alone.
It is formulated with BIOCOS LAB.
