Beauty packaging manufacturer and supplier Quadpack became a B Corporation three years ago and has now announced the renewal of its certification. With the purpose of using economic activity as a force for positive impact, Quadpack continues to adopt and promote sustainable practices to contribute to the ecological transition of the cosmetics industry, as a member of the B Beauty Coalition and as part of the community of over ten thousand B Corps worldwide. The recertification assessment showed improvements in all parameters, increasing its initial score from 82 to 106, thus placing it in the upper tier.
Caring for People
Significant improvements were recorded in the people domain. All employees on payroll now receive a fair wage and 20% above the minimum wage in virtually all company activity centers. Health, safety, and wellbeing promotion activities were developed in offices and factories. The gender pay gap fell to 8.9%, and women's average hourly earnings increased by 6.6% (as of end-2024). Quadpack's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI&B) Plan consolidated a series of principles for greater equity. Overall, employee engagement and satisfaction have increased since the first review.
Caring for the Environment
Quadpack has set out to reduce its environmental impact and, to that end, has incorporated a bespoke AI-powered tool for real-time data collection on carbon, as well as for monitoring waste and water usage. The implementation of Aplanet is one of the company's initiatives to adopt a data-driven sustainability strategy. It also prioritizes the use of certified raw materials, particularly wood (FSC and PEFC).
Taking Care of Customers
For Quadpack, it is fundamental to inspire and support its clients, from initial eco-design to the development of recovery plans regarding materials, waste management, and other end-of-life aspects. Each product in its catalog features life cycle analyses that allow for the calculation of Scope 3 carbon emissions. In fact, Quadpack now records sustainability "master data" containing comprehensive information on the entire life cycle of specific products that have been sold and supplied to clients. This data is based on weight-based calculations, along with end-of-life analyses conducted according to the facilities in the destination country.
Caring for the Community
In addition to its own industrial operations, Quadpack actively manages its supply chain to ensure ethical and sustainable practices are employed. Suppliers are involved throughout the process to help them meet requirements, which include EcoVadis or Sedex certifications and ISO 14001 (environmental management), 9001 (quality management), and 45001 (occupational health and safety management) standards, in addition to other third-party certifications such as BDP or ISCC. Quadpack has centralized sustainability data from its suppliers, which undergoes regular updates and an annual audit
"We are tremendously proud," states **CEO Alexandra Chauvigné**. "We have achieved tangible progress. We take care of our people by prioritizing safety and equity, and we use solid data to reduce our carbon footprint. Thanks to our transparency, we help our clients make informed decisions. By working with communities, we share best practices and foster the ecological transition of the cosmetics industry. Even so, sustainability is a constantly evolving process. There is still much to be done, but our high score shows that progressive changes translate into great advances and ensure a positive impact for everyone."
