The world map of perfumery is experiencing a new movement. The Swiss group Givaudan has reached an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Eurofragance, an operation that strengthens the growth strategy of the world leader in fragrances and beauty and marks a new chapter for one of the most relevant Spanish companies in the sector.

The transaction will allow Givaudan to expand its reach in regional and mid-sized customer segments, a category that has become one of the main growth drivers of the beauty industry in recent years. The operation is part of the Swiss group's strategy to complement its presence among large multinationals with a stronger offering for fast-growing local and regional brands.

Founded in Barcelona and with an international presence, Eurofragance has stood out in recent years for its strong expansion. The company closed 2024 with a turnover of 180 million euros, 27% more than the previous year, driven by growth in regions such as the Middle East, Asia, and America.

Beyond the business volume, the acquisition provides Givaudan with a combination that will allow it to improve in different areas such as operational agility, proximity to regional clients, and solid specialization in fine perfumery and personal care categories. As explained by the Swiss company itself, these are increasingly valued capabilities in a market where independent brands, rapid launches, and personalization are redefining the rules of the game.

The operation also confirms the growing strategic relevance of Spain within the global fragrance industry. In recent years, Eurofragance has consolidated its position as one of the independent manufacturers with the greatest international projection, relying on a network of creative and production centers that has allowed it to compete with major international players.

For Givaudan, the purchase adds to a continuous policy of acquisitions aimed at strengthening local capabilities and expanding its geographical coverage. In recent years, the company has incorporated various firms specializing in fragrances, cosmetic ingredients, artificial intelligence applied to olfactory creation, and beauty solutions, thus strengthening its innovation ecosystem.
